Ubuntu Edge

About a week ago, Canonical announced they were crowdfunding a showcase Ubuntu phone, called the Ubuntu Edge. The specifications sheet is impressive, and the hardware concepts look great. I am not fully sold on the convergence story, but it is something that Ubuntu is uniquely positioned for.

I owe quite a bit to Ubuntu. I have been running it as the primary OS on my laptops since the 7.04 (Fiesty Fawn) release in April 2007. I have backed the project, and will receive the Ubuntu Edge if the campaign is successful. And I hope it is. I'm genuinely excited about a flagship Ubuntu phone. More on indiegogo (referral link).
